 You lose money both ways.The thing that pisses me off is that banks don't 
 pay at least the inflation rate as determined by the consumer price index 
 (CPI). 
 And I was making a point that there are many better alternatives for 
 protecting, and making your money grow, than a savings or checking account. 
 Basically either the bed or bank method will cause you to lose money because 
 of inflation. You just lose a little less by putting it in the bank. 
 Everyone should realize that you MUST keep up with inflation so your money 
 has the same buying power next year and the next etc.. And you need to get 
 more than the inflation rate if you want to make money off your money.
