XPost: nf.general From: genius@warp.nfld.net Don't forget the hidden taxes. Money you pay for taxes goes to pay for people injured on the job. That's right! Workers Comp downloads their responsibilities to Welfare and Canada Pension. When a worker gets injured Workers Comp is supposed to get him/her back to work. If he/she can't do the job because the injuries were so severe as to disable him/her permanently they are supposed to retrain him/her or give them a pension which approximates the injured workers pre injury earnings. That is what is supposed to be done but it doesn't happen. Instead the Workers Comp ignores doctors reports, and many other crimes. The result is severely injured workers have to rely on welfare and Canada Pension and it is YOU who pays for that. Funny how an insurance company like Workers Comp can do that isn't it? If you don't believe me, I just got the statistics from Welfare that 75 people in Newfoundland and Labrador as of November 2005 are getting some small amount of Workers Comp payments and some Welfare to top them up so they can eat. That doesn't count the ones that have to go on Canada Pension Plan Disability payments. There may be more of them. My advice is to get some private disability insurance and hope that if you get seriously injured one of them might pay what they are supposed too. But don't rely on Workers comp. If you are one of the 70% that have minor injuries that don't disable you for life you will most likely get treated very well. But, if you are among the group of permanently disabled you can only expect a very long and depressing fight to get your due and just benefits. That is because they want to keep costs down for employers. Yet every Workers Comp board in Canada has millions and billions in these injured workers funds but don't give it out. Many of the hierarchy of the workers comp are making double the salary of the regular public. Again that is money that is supposed to go to injured workers. Businesses should investigate to see where their money is really going. It is not to injured workers that's for sure. As for the taxpayers, now that you know the truth, why aren't you demanding from the Government an investigation into wrongdoing by workers comp. You are paying people that should be the responsibility of the workers comp. Oh, and don't forget the health costs. Workers Comp is supposed to reimburse the system for health care costs, but as they deny benefits and deny justice, the injured worker is left to fend for him/herself and any more health care is again downloaded onto the health care system which YOU pay for! To put it bluntly Workers Comp is the most corrupt system in Canada at the moment. And YOU the taxpayer is being ripped off by them every day, 365 days a year, because the taxes YOU pay into CPP, welfare, and for health care is being robbed by Workers Comp. They rob it by denying benefits to seriously injured workers and then those other taxpayer paid social programs are availed of by the injured worker. So to Mister and Ms. Taxpayer, if you don't open your mouth and ask why this is happening you will continue to pay this hidden tax. --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05 * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2) |
