 Aftter being the victim of a hit and run driver, I decided it was time 
 to buy a cell phone for emergency use. 
 So, I bought a Bell Mobility phone pay as you go package, which 
 expired last July. I had intended to buy minmum monthly air time to 
 keep it active, but it slipped my mind until after the expiry date, 
 and having heard that the phone, once activated, could always be used 
 for 911 calls, which was my primary reason for purchasing it, decided 
 that would be suffiient. 
 Last week I received an "automated" call from Bell Mobility (on my 
 home phone, NOT the cell phone), offering to extend my cell phone 
 acount to December 30/2005, if I purchased a $15 pay as you go card 
 and credited it to my account by November 27th. In addition, Bell 
 would DOUBLE the amount of the card, crediting my acount with $30, 
 which would expire on December 30th. I bought the card (a $15 card 
 costs $17.25) and called to credit it to my account. The automated 
 procedure indicated it would take at least 5 minutes to process the 
 credit to the account, so I waited a couple of days before checking 
 the account balance. 
 Imagine my surprise on finding that the balance was only fourteen 
 dollars and some cents. I called Bell Mobility and spoke with (Gasp) a 
 real human, only to be told that (a) the "doubling" of my $15 credit 
 would not occur until December 5th  (NO mention of that in their 
 original automated call!) AND (b) that it would expire on December 
 21st (NOT December 30th as promised in the automated message!) Can you 
 say LIAR? 
 I called back again, and spoke with a different representative, who 
 told me the double credit of $30 would expire 60 days from December 
 22nd! 
 I can't get a straight answer from anyone. Trying to get a complaint 
 number for the CRTC only gets me a number for Bell Mobility. 
 Want a Cell phone? Get one from the Mafia - they have much more 
 honesty and integrity than Bell. 
 RECORD all calls from these BLATANT BRAZEN LIARS to protect yourself 
 from their SCAMS!
