 Qwerty: The store that alerted me to this was an outlet of what I believe is
 called "The Dollar Store".
 I happened to have five dollars with me and used that instead to pay. I
 received a receipt that reads;
 "ONLY DEALS #95, Ropewalk Lane, St. John's Newfoundland. 722-4488".
 The cashier was doing a fine job and told me that she was just following
 instructions when she advised there would be a 25 cent charge for debit card
 purchase less than $5.
 I agree, not only is this store in part of town where I rarely shop but that
 minor 25 cent incident has completely discouraged buying anything there.
 Since my buyer resistance is pretty high that means 'never' at that store or
 another of it's branches! Thanks for the comment. We consumers need to keep
 each other advised, eh?
