There is a need, in my opinion, for such a forum where people can ask questions and receive the comments, suggestions, and experience of fellow consumers. The experience/attitude of the above poster exemplifies the poor job most agents and insurance companies in advising and educating their customers! As typical consumers we are so busy working, paying bills, bringing up a family etc. that we need good advice in these specialized areas such as insurance, investments, estate planning etc. Personal experience, thankfully, with insurance companies has been very slight. The very few dealings we have had have not impressed us with either the efficiency or forthrightness of the insurance industry and the accompanying organizations. As an example; if one is assessed as being at say partially at fault for an accident you have no idea until a year later when you renew the policy. Whereupon they will say "Oh, by the way, you were assessed as being such and such a percent liable for that accident, last year. Your premium now is". No chance to know the outcome or appeal the decision; nothing! Seem to be a lot of 'hidden' rules. No wonder people don't trust or respect the insurance industry. Lack of respect only feeds the idea of unnecessarily claiming as much settlement as you can; rather than treating it as a reserve to help you out when an accident does occur.
