There's the first mistake. NEVER allow a company, utility, etc, to
take their monthly bill directly from your credit card. It sounds
convenient but it leaves you little recourse in situations like this
(and many people don't even notice they're being overbilled since
they're not actively paying their bill each month).
Get yourself set up to pay bills over internet banking and don't pay
an errant bill until you've straightened things out with payee.
