From: tsanford@nf.sympatico.ca Since we will away for several months, we decided to put our Bell Express-Vu satellite TV service 'on vacation'. We called them and were told; a) That our service would be temporarily discontinued for six months. b) There would be no monthly charge during the six months. i.e. zero! c) At the end of the six months the service could be reinstated by a phone call and the payment then of $9.99. However our last bill, had no monthly charge but the $9.99 had been billed; up front! Have just checked again (December 23 2004) with Bell Express. Seemingly the Express-Vu representative I had spoken with previously was misinformed. They confirm that their previous policy has changed. d) The $9.99 is now charged (my expression) as a 'disconnection/holding' fee, not as a 'reconnection' charge. e) When we return it will take 24 hours or less to re-establish the service following our phone call. Anyway it's a useful item to note if you are leaving your normal location for a while but returning later. Appropriate and seasonal greetings to all of us.
