| Subj: When you want to change the 'limit' om y |
From: tsanford@nf.sympatico.ca We've had this credit card for 5 to 6 years, always paid up to date, etc. We started out with a $500 limit then raised it to $3000 for a trip abroad in year 2000, then reduced it to $1000 for a while and then back up to $3000. Some months ago without any permission from us the issuer increased the limit to $3800! Apparentlty they do that for 'good' customers. We could easily qualify for a much higher limit since our credit rating is R1, but the reason we want keep the limit low (especially when we have little need to use the crard) to minimze the risk of loss if an identity theft occurred. Knowing that we won't be needing the card I today decided to reduce the limit. This time I was told that if I did so I couldn't change it again for six months! I'm going to check that statement again but thought I'd comment here for benefit for Canadian Consumers. Yes I did so and that's thge gen; six months and then it stays that way! --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05 * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2) |
