I assure you that I can set my incoming line feeds in Netscape 4.9 to
'window width' or not at all. If I set it to window width it will wrap
the incoming line to window width and if the line is longer it will put
the rest of it on another line. If I don't set it to window width it
will not wrap the lines at all but invoke the scroll bar. Any line of
text that the sender sets at less than window width, say 72 characters,
will appear on my screen the way it was sent whether or not I have my
incoming set to window width.

Yes I know Gord. In Netscape 4.9 all text is neat except text that is
sent set at more than window width. The problem you had with Nomad's
messages the other day was not a problem in Netscape. His messages were
being received with even line lengths just under window width. I'm
betting his line length was set at slightly less than window with.
After he changed it to, I believe, 65 characters his messages appear in
netscape taking up only slightly more than half the screen, as yours
do. I don't have a big problem with that.
Thanks anyway.
Carter
PS: My line length is set at Netscape's default which is 72 characters.
