As an alternative to the barber in NDHQ, I went -- and still go -- to
Barry Melthorpe's "Snobby's Hair Saloon" on Laurier Avenue East about
10 minutes walk from 17 NT (http://www.snobby.ca). He offers a
discount to members of the CF (same as his student discount) and does
a decent haircut, in my wife's expert opinion. Barry's a funny,
opinionated Englishman (was a cook in the RAF on National Service) who
runs the Simpsons and Seinfeld reruns on his shop's televisions most
of the day. It helps if you like dogs, though, there are always two
little Yorkies running about.
