| Subj: Rec licence vs. private.. |
From: pepper99@NOSPAM.primus.ca Currently in ground school, and soon to start dual instruction, as soon as funds allow.. (I want to have enough cash saved up so that once I start, I don't have to stop for lack of funds. I'm personally aiming to get my recreational licence, however many of the instructors I have chatted with seem to be pushing me towards the full private licence instead. Personally, I've compared the two licences, and for my needs after the fact, a recreational ticket is all I really need. Cost is a huge factor as well, and the recreational ticket is signifigantly less expensive. Basically, I can afford to pursue the rec ticket very soon, whereas the cost of going with the full private liscence will probably delay me a year while I save up the required cash. What's everyone's opinion of this? I can personally live within the restrictions of the rec ticket easilly, yet remain somewhat concened about why many people seem to be steering me away from it. Since it's sanctioned by Transport Canada, and is a legitimate licence, I'm not sure why it seems to be frowned upon quite as much as I seem to be experincing. Any opinions/info appreciated. --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05 * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2) |
