 Funds is always a big factor, and it looks to me like that has already made 
 up your mind for you. 
  
 Unless you own your own plane, you should check out your favorite Operator 
 and make sure that there are no special issues with respect to renting a 
 plane with the Rec license... It is possible that some of them make up their 
 own rules with respect to requirement for currency, etc.., before they will 
 rent you a plane.
