 I'm just curious to know how often HF is used in Avaviation these days. 
  
 I'm a tech who is responsible for maintaining an HF comm system at a 
 domestic aerodrome. The system is very old with transmitters using valves in 
 their power amplifiers. Spares are no longer available for these TXs. 
 Since the installation is sound I'm looking for replacement options if HF is 
 still widely used in aeronautical communications.
