Lester Bowles Pearson's vision of Canada

 2.

"The Royal Commission on Bilingualism and Biculturalism was established on
July 19, 1963, 99 days after he (Pearson) had won his minority Liberal
 government of 95 seats."

One of the ten commissioners was ".Andre Laurendeau .by any standard, a
dubious choice for the task of uniting Canada. Formerly editor of Le Devoir,
the voice of Quebec nationalism, and a former leader of the separatist party
the Bloc Populaire, he offered no credentials for championing the
constitutional vision of a united country."

"The prime minister ensured that the composition of the royal commission
favoured central Canada. The terms of reference for the commission, however,
revealed the most about its purpose. Given the demographic reality of the
country, the commissioners were ordered to define Canada on the basis of the
two-nation theory. In fact, this was no commission of inquiry at all. "

"As the commissioners perceived Canada, the "Bi-Bi" Commission need never
have taken place. They and the Liberal government had already decided
exactly what Canada's make-up should be. They began from the principle of an
"equal partnership between founding races," which the commissioners
considered the "mainspring of our terms of reference." The course was set.
All that was left for them to do was establish the policy and mechanics
needed to back up that principle. They saw no need to consult the Canadian
 people about any of this."

I recommend the reader get the book listed below, from which the excerpt
above is taken, and, after reading it you will understand how the English
speaking peoples of Canada have been mislead by our politicians into a
policy that favours the Francophone to the exclusion of all the rest of
Canadians. I was shocked when I read it because I recognized many of the
issues and today we are experiencing the results.
