 Saving Baby Angelina

Baby Angelina is one of a set of unborn twins who is suffering from
Hypoplastic Right Heart Syndrom. Hypoplastic Right Heart Syndrome is a
defect in the heart that causes under-development of the right side of the
heart during the babies development inside of the mother. The severity of
this disorder will cause inadequate blood flow to the lungs and is
definitely a life threatening disorder. Along with this disorder, Angelina
is also suffering from complications with the development of her left
ventricul, Hypoplastic Aortic Outflow, and transposition of the Great
Vessels. As you can see, Angelina is suffering from many life threatening
 complications.

Angelina's development problems are just at the top of the list. Currently
her mother is on strict bed rest at the Saint John Regional Hospital for the
remainder of the pregnancy and has had many complications that have almost
lead to a pre-mature labor. Having the babies at such an early stage would
have meant there would be practically no hope for the baby's survival as she
would have been much to small to carry out any type of operation. Currently
the mother is in critical condition and could go into labor at anytime, as
she has been leaking fluid from Angelina's Amniotic Sac (Water Sac) for
 quite some time now.

The only hope for Angelina's Survival would be to make a trip to the Sick
Kids Hospital in Toronto, Ontario to have major heart surgery upon birth.

Angelina's family is located in St. Stephen, NB, about an hour to an hour
and a half drive to the Hospital in Saint John and constant traveling for
visits and several close call emergencies is proving to be financially
exhausting. If Angelina is able to stay inside of her mother for about
another 2 to 3 weeks this will mean a trip to Ontario, which could also be
quite costly. The family is currently seeking support and donations of any
type to help with some of these expenses.

If you would be interested in making a donation or would simply like more
information about Angelina and her current condition, please email us at
