 go look up the 'renaissance', you ignorant twit.  What's most amusing is 
 that 
 the Renaissance was a period in which christians tried, successfully, to 
 re-assert their influence over society after they lost quite a bit of ground 
 during the Enlightenment.  The Renaissance directly followed the 
 Enlightenment, 
 and was marked by 'romanticism' (aka proto-secular humanism, aka godless 
 christianity).
