 You are half way to agreeing, 10X.  Now let's see you take that step 
 that will bring you the whole way. 
  
 The difference in the objects you mentioned is that the gun is the 
 only one that is intrinsically an object that only shoots and kills. 
  
 The others are essentials to everyday life whereas the gun seems to be 
 only essential to people like you who live in or on the fringes of 
 predatory food chain areas,  or where specified animal depopulation is 
 the order of the day, or where animal pests are a serious problem on 
 your property in the country. 
  
 But still don't forget its intrinsic purpose is only to shoot and 
 kill, whatever it is that is shot and killed.
