Politicians are people, people are corruptible, and corruption happens when
the rewards outweigh the consequences. Make the consequences much tougher
and the temptation won't be so strong. I propose all politicians found
guilty of corruption be banished to some place like Iqaluktuuttiaq for a
year or two, where they can quitly freeze while thinking about their
wrongdoings. That, and community service at minimum wage to pay back every
cent they have stolen, even if it means doing so the rest of their natural
lives.
