It is simple. I just don't go in Walmart. That is how I deal with it, its' not part of my life. Lots of places do that, true.. but certainly not most. It is to cut down on potential theft of course. But for someone that doesn't steal it is insulting. I tell them I won't leave my bag with them and they can walk with me through the store if they want. They can even help carry all my packages if it makes them feel better. You'd be surprised what good treatment you get when you assert your individuality rather than being a sheep. I am not always in a position to exercise this action all the time, but I have done it before on several occasions. I always like to ask them what their anti-theft policy has to do with me. I don't shop at Walmart for a multi-tude of reasons but having a greeter welcome you with open arms while taping your bag shut is one of them. When was the last time you heard of kids being taught in school that theft was bad. Maybe in the 1950's? I think we'd have a lot less theft if that was taught earlier on in life. But, I think by not teaching that theft is bad makes justification for all the security cameras everyplace, bag searches, floor walkers, invasiveness etc etc... 1000's of jobs across the land depend upon theft. Theft provides for an industry centred around job creation more so than prevention. --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05 * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2) |
