 Doctor Who: Talons of Weng Chiang - A Gripping Blend (4/5) 
  
 "The Talons of Weng Chiang" is a Victorian delight with 
 a sci-fi twist!  Tom Baker's Doctor investigates a charismatic 
 Chinese magician, Weng Chiang, but all is not as it seems. 
 Weng Chiang harbours a dark secret - he's an alien villain 
 after Earth's life force! 
  
 This serial blends Sherlock Holmes vibes with classic Who's fantastical 
 elements.  The Victorian London setting is richly detailed, 
 and the supporting cast is a hoot (watch out for Sarah Jane's 
 hilarious disguise!). 
  
 Beware, racism present:  The portrayal of the villain relies 
 on offensive stereotypes.  While a product of its time, 
 it's a blemish on an otherwise entertaining adventure. 
  
 Still, the suspenseful plot, witty dialogue, and surprising 
 twists make this a winner for Doctor Who fans who can navigate 
 the historical baggage.
